The 14th Annual Race For Research 5K Fun Run & Walk

Dear friends and family, Laura and Paul Worthington invite you to join us in the 5K Race for Research on August 22 in Washington Park in Denver. Laura and I will be walking to honor our family members who lost their lives to cancer, our family members who are cancer survivors, and all others who struggle with this disease. Laura's father, Kaz Jakstas, passed away from cancer in 2008. And the father or stepfather or grandfather to most of us, Vern Selby, passed away from cancer in January 2010.

Funds from the race benefit the Cancer League of Colorado, a non-profit organization composed entirely of volunteers. They fund cancer research and service grants throughout the state of Colorado.

Let's meet before the race around the starting area so that we can all walk or run together. We all had a great time last year!

RACE DAY:    
Race day registration begins at:   7:00 a.m.
5K Run begins at:   8:00 a.m.
5K Walk begins at:   8:05 a.m.
Awards Ceremony:   9:00 a.m.
Free Pancake Breakfast:   9:00 a.m.

There are three ways to support this worthy cause this year!

  1. Register to participate in the Race 4 Research (run or walk) or the Sleep In 4 Research (they'll mail you a T-shirt!)
  2. Pledge to sponsor a Race 4 Research participant (note: our names are not yet showing up online as of 8/14)
  3. Donate to contribute if you can't participate in person with us and you want to donate something other than the standard entry fee
